Exploring the ‘whys’ and ‘hows’ of internet in Chile

Dr Sergio Godoy is Head of Research & Postgraduate Studies of Universidad Catolica de Chile’s School of Communications (UC), the country’s leading academic body in the field. He specialises in the business of communications, IT and electronic medC). Both WIP and BIT are executed in Chile by a multi-disciplinary research teams worldwide, composed by communicators, sociologists, engineers and economists from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile and the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS).
Professor Godoy was visiting the OII during the last weeks, and he gave a talk to explain the current situation of the Internet in Chile. In addition, a comparison between the chilean and the british digital contexts was given (this is part of a research developed by him and Dr Ellen J. Helsper).
Noteworthy that joint academic project between the OII and this chilean research center are planned for the coming future. Saty tunned.
